COLLABORATE

A story always has its protagonist..
but what happen if the protagonist of the story is the same story?

Project

Eternal Dream (ED) will be open, without commitement, for anyone interested. Substantially ED is a Manga type: Shōnen; even if there are many parts of a Seinen Manga. To the designers who will candidate theyre self to the role, the master will give them some information about a determinated plot, mostly ispired by the Quest-Sagas conduced in the Hunter Hunter Story web site; the designer have to report the Quest Sagas on a sheet through drawings by greyscale (Black and White), as a real Japanese Manga. The Master for all the time that the designer will work, will be completely present to clarify any doubt or misunderstanding or simply to give some useful advices, ooze drafts and to help the function of the designers.

Important

The use rights for workers created by the designers for the Eternal Dream project, even if are intellectuall property belonging to the autor who have created them, are automatically transported to the staff of Hunter Hunter Story. Any interruption of the collaboration of the designer against us won't damage in the loss of the use rights by the Master of the site about the materials provided. Substantially many people doesn't like the resentments, especially those that are infantile, so, if a designer leaves the project claiming the removal of the material that he had kindly offered previously, he will be remembered about this statement. Each designer who decide to work with us, does a tacit accord in which he won't undermine in any way the growth of the Manga. The same speech is for translators and retouchers.

Details

Our work is composed by chapters, and many chapters made a Story. each story has a coloured Cover. For each chapter must be employed just one Designer, however many Designers may work to the same Story (by sharing chapters) dealing with the fact that their Drawining styles must be similar each other. Editors might work simultanealy to any number of chapoters at times, even if drawned by different designers. However, they cannot bother other Editors, if are already working on another specific chapter. Toward the end of each story, there will be credits about about any Designer and Editor that coooperated to the realization of the story. Designers and Editors Shouldn't mind about Dialogue and Plot, that concern only to The principal and Time by time them are referred in Storyboard section. Designers must only work to the technical realization of Tables, as Editors must only concern about the refininiture of this ones.

Notes

Doing drawings take a lot of time, and this time ovviusly can't be (for those who are in the Hunter X Hunter Story community) dedicated to the character that you have created. So designers will have a prize in UE (experience unity). This prize will be given to the designers at the end of each chapter, the prize change depending on the length and the difficult of the chapter. The first chapter that the designer will prepare won't be reward because it is used to test the abilities of the candidate, and also because is the first task the master won't request anything too complicated or long. The same speech is for the retouchers, even if the prize will be lower (the prizi is for spor him to do collaborate sincerely). For the translator instead won't receive any prize for his work because this work is more simple then the other. In general those who work only to obtain a prize in UE must not work with us because the producer wants the staff to work, not only for the UE but also with passion and personal gratification (If someone likes to receive a prize but he or she doesn't' work only for it is another kettle of fish). Generally are not expected extraordinary design skills, because it is only an amateur project, the important thing is that the drawings have to be understandable and attractive appearance. The Manga wants to be inspired only by the events of the community, but haven't the purpose to trace it accurately; so, many dialogues can be simplified and partly altered, or for technical requirements (simplify the work of the staff) or for other reasons; similar speech is for the characters, scenery, assorted details and so on. Instead we will try to remain faithful about names and relevants events, as possible. Because the "Copyright and rights" factor, we will avoid the use of the same terms of the Yoshihiro Togashi Opera (on which the community is based), and in the same time we will try to avoid references to other Mangas and Anime; which is why some stories about Hunter X Hunter Story can't be reproduced (or will receive radical changes), because some storyes copies too much the operas of grat Mangakas. The good thing of this fact is that the abitual players of the community, even if they know some of the stories narrated in the Hunter X Hunter Story web site, when they read the Manga they can have unpublished surprises, instead of a predictable sequence of events. Finally the project, knowing his nature is intended to proceed very slowly, so won't be accepted any kind of pressure against the designers. Some others information in the Differences section.

Realization

Now we will analize the six phases that of the implementation of a chapter.

First Phase: The selection of a Chapter

In this phase there is a short conversation between the designer and the manager to select which chapter will be produced.

Second Phase: Characters

The Staff analize some characters that are shown in the Manga for the first time (excluding extras) and for anyone of this characters will be produced a specific character design, or in simple word the drawings (a whole figure shown from different angles, put beside a close up face) of the character. This serves to define the personality, that must transpire also from the way they dress, the hairstyle and the pose as well as the anatomy; can be present small but important notes that the designer can keep in mind.
This is an example of Character Design:

This sketches will be realized on a A4 white sheet and never on stripped sheets or sqared paper of books. As you can see the drowing cover the entire width of the paper, horizontally. The technical implementation is the pencil and it doesn't require ink. If the designer is able to do it,can realize the drowing dire directly on computer by the use of a tablet. The drawings are scanned and sent to the operator. Important notes about the paper dimension: *The A4 paper size 21x29,7 cm. Converted is 210x297 mm: inserting this two values in the dimension of a new file (with photoshop or another graphic application) and then selecting the "pixels" instead of the "mm" as a Unit, will appear the pixel dimension of the drawing. Is impossible to determine a precise number the values changes with the resolution (ppi) of the image. With the photograph resolution 300 DPI (the most common) the dimension in pixels are 2480x3508. In lower resolution match lowerminor measures in pixels, for example with the 72 DPI the dimension are 595x841. *In already exist a character design for every character of the chapter this fase can be ignored. In the endo of this fase the characters design, that you can see in the character section, are ready for future chapters.

Third Phase: Storyboard

In general only the operator deals thisphase, even if the designer (and eventually also the retouchers) can give some advices. The storyboard is only a draft (conceived in writing form and/or some scribble in it) of the drawings that would make the chapter; every drawing can contain a ranging from 2 to 6 baloons. In the storyboard the staff decide the various shots, the prespectives and the location of the balloons, the onomatopeias and some others details. There are also a reference of the dialogues, even if they aren't the final ones.
This is an example of Storyboard:

At the end of this phase the planned material is visible in the "Storyboard" section and eventually ready for the future use, if the designer fails to complete the work; it is possible to skip the first two phases, if someone wants to candidate him self to realize the storyboard that the other designer hasn't finished.

Fourth Phase: Design

On the bases of the Characters/Storyboard previously set, the designer will have to realize the drawings that will compose the chapter. In fact the drawings must be realized by hand on a A4 white paper and never on striped paper and squared papers. The drawing corresponds to the entirewidth of the sheet vertically. The technic realization is in pencil. Important note about the size: *The A4 paper size 21X29,7 cm. If we convert the size in mm the dimension of the paper is: 210x297 mm. Inserting this two values in the dimension of a new file (with Photoshop or another grafic application) and then selectin "pixel" instead of "mm" as a unit, will appear the corrisponding sezi in pixels. It is impossible to determinate a precise number change with the resolution (ppi) of the image. With the photo resolution of 300 DPI (the most common) the pixel dimensions are: 2480x3508. In lower resolution match lowerminor measures in pixels, for example with the 72 DPI the dimension are 595x841.* You should pay attention at this stage ordrawings may be flat and devoid of dynamism/atmosphere, something fundamental is the balance of whites and blacks, according to their predominance significantly change the atmosphere of the situation (with very dark black, quiet with very white) is also important to the choice of vignettes open or closed (with visible borders on all sides or less) to release the designs within the boxes may be an apt choice of style, as well as disastrous. You have to pay attention in this phase or the drawings can result plat or without dynamism or atmosphere, one of the most important thing balance of whites and blacks, that according to their predominant change significantly the atmosphere of the situation (dark with too much black and quite with too much white); important is also the choice of open or closed baloons (with bords on all the sides or not) to release the designs within the boxes may be an apt choice of style, as well as disastrous. The same speech is for the baloons, if the baloon will be classic (square, rettangular) or detailed (triangular, hexagonal, etc..). Of course it is also vital to the care of the details of the characters and the environment (scenario) in which they occur. In short, there are many things to consider and are all very important to the ultimate visual and psychological impact: the drawings are free to unleash their creativity, as long as everything is not too misleading (eg with a dramatic chapter cartoons little heart-shaped / starlet would be ridiculous and very embarrassing). Great care should be given to the management of the paper, as in the cartoons should be enough space to allow the balloons to retouching to include: pay attention and then see the storyboard! The length of Chapter varies from 10 to about 40 tables.

Fourth Phase bis: Corrections

At the request of the operator there is the possibility that some drawings will be subjects of a few changes, in some cases to permit the insert of a balloon, in some other cases to avoid narrative inconsistences (for example a character designed without following the character design) or simply to improve / refine some details or oversight. If the designer has been careful during the previous points this phase is often skip, unless special circumstances.

Step 5: INK

The various tables are rehearse in china with the method that the designer Predel (brush, rapidograph, pen, brush pen, etc.). If the drawing is capable, from Step 4 can perform the job directly to your computer by the use of tablet (remembering to simulate the size of A4). The Chapter is scanned in high quality and saved in PNG and JPG.

Step 6: Finishing

The chapter is almost complete. Retoucher to the task of reworking the boards with special graphics programs. Specifically, should apply the textures, the balloons (with a content), remove any burrs and insert additional onomatopoeia, when and where deemed necessary. Clarification on the screens, once their application is done by hand, but it was a long and expensive (the textures were not exactly cheap), but now it does everything through a computer graphic technique is called digital screening. About the exact contents of the balloons will need to seek guidance to the Manager, and the sources to be used must be necessarily Anime Ace 2.0 BB. In this way the whole manga will have a consistent look. The boards are then saved to the original size that is scaled (values to be determined), in PNG and JPG. The Chapter can now be published in the Manga, where registered users can view and comment on each table.
